FECHIMM just concluded a partnership agreement with Rent Express, a company specializing in automated rent collection. Its services help with both the rent collection management for the cooperative and the payment of rent by member-tenants.

Rent Express allows tenants to pay their rent through their financial institution at a bank machine, by telephone or Internet, as they do for most of the bills they have to pay. There is no question here of a preauthorized debit, tenants manage their own payment on receipt of an invoice. A courtesy reminder is also sent if desired.

Rent Express services also help cooperatives manage their rent collection. They help you save time and reduce paperwork, losses and bad checks. They also reduce the sources of tension between member-tenants and the person responsible for collecting the rents.

Using this automated system, cooperatives also don’t have to do manual data entries. Rents are transferred to the cooperative’s account within two business days.

To subscribe to this service, your cooperative must register with Rent Express and provide a list of tenants who wish to pay their rent through automated collection. It is not mandatory that all members of a cooperative use the service for it to be advantageous. The monthly cost of this service is set at $3 per unit.
