MICROGRANTS FOR GREENER CO-OPS
8 FHCQ MEMBER CO-OPS SHARE NEARLY $18,000
April 28, 2022The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) has announced the names of the co-ops whose projects will benefit from a micro-grant. A total of $155,000 will be distributed across the country to 45 housing co-ops to help them make their communities greener and more sustainable.
MICRO-GRANT RECIPIENTS AMONG FHCQ MEMBERS
Au pied du courant receives $4,000 for a green and safe yard.
The Bienvenue chez nous cooperative receives $3,795 for sustainable landscaping.
The Faubourg Québec cooperative was awarded $1,730 for the creation of a community garden.
The Creative St. Kevin cooperative was awarded $3,582 for lighting upgrades, a community garden and a bike rack.
The Gonthier Housing Cooperative's urban vegetable garden and eco-responsible irrigation project is receiving $1,605 in funding.
The Coopérative Hispanoamerica is receiving $1,458 for the purchase and installation of a secure bicycle rack.
A micro-grant of $1600 is awarded to the Sourire à la vie cooperative for the construction of a community garden.
The FHCQ and the insurance broker Lussier, a partner in the CO-OP Insurance program, are partners in this program, which is growing every year.
In total, FHCQ member co-ops share a total of $17,770.
