Here are questions you may ask the candidates you are going to meet.

• Will you commit yourself to establishing a special tax status for housing co-operatives in order to curtail rising rental rates and to counteract the effects of real estate speculation and gentrification (or lobby the Government of Quebec to this effect)?

• Will you commit yourself to creating a land and buildings bank, that is acquiring land and buildings in several neighbourhoods in order to make them available for groups involved in developing housing co-operatives and providing an adequate budget for this purpose?

• Will you commit yourself to upholding the citizens' right to approval by way of referendum and to developing, in collaboration with the population, a meaningful upstream consultation process in land use planning and development projects?
