THE FORMULA JUST FOR YOU

To better meet your education needs, the Federation has developed different approaches to adapt workshops according to the availability of your members. Choose among the following formulas, the one that suits you.

The scheduled workshops

These workshops are offered at FHCQ, at set dates, and regroup members of several cooperatives. To find out the schedule of these workshops, visit the education calendar (FR).

Workshops in co-op

Make your choice among our many workshops and we will go to your co-op. All you have to do is decide on the date and the time that suit you. For more information, call us at 514-843-6929, ext. 246.

INTERCO-OP WORKSHOPS IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD

It is now possible for FHCQ’s member cooperatives to get together and share the costs of a workshop including the rental of a hall. All workshops offered by FHCQ can be offered through this formula. Two-part workshops require two meetings. The maximum number of participants for this option varies according to the workshop chosen.

The fees for these INTERCO-OP workshops are $ 439,98 plus tax, + the fees for renting a hall. The workshop costs are split equally between the participating cooperatives. If your cooperative and others in your area want to use this formula, get in touch with us in order to receive examples of resolutions boards of directors of participating cooperatives must adopt.

Also note that finding and renting a hall is the cooperatives’ responsibility. Ideally, the room should allow the use of a projector provided by FHCQ. Please also note that education credits cannot be used for these workshops.

SUPPORT SERVICES AND CUSTOMIZED WORKSHOPS

It is now possible to benefit from a personalized service and to plan your annual support and education needs on your cooperative’s specific issues. By committing on a yearly basis, your cooperative may benefit from economies of scale for a range of customized workshops including on-site meetings, reserved places for participants in workshops and a bank of hours for telephone and email support with a contact person who knows more about the specific context of the cooperative.

As the support service is a tailored service, the contents will be decided in consultation with the Board and FHCQ’s Education Coordinator within the guidelines of the chosen package. Contact us for more information on these services.

WORKSHOPS OFFERED AT YOUR LOCATION AT GENERAL ASSEMBLIES OR IN OPEN COMMITTEES

The workshops offered at your location can be given in general assemblies or during meetings with members of various committees. Some workshop contents are more related to a committee rather than another, but the workshops must be accessible to all members in order to encourage learning, transmission of working knowledge and involvement.

The workshop meetings may be mandatory for some members and optional for others based on the content and the teacher. In addition to the workshop contents identified below, all workshop contents presented on FHCQ’s website can also be selected.

  • Role and responsibilities of the board of directors
  • Understanding the financial statements
  • Work organization and organizational structure
  • Preparing for the audit
  • Revision of the regulations (Internal by-laws, building regulation, selection and subsidy allocation policy, participation policy...)
