Living at La Coopérative d’Habitation Terrasse Soleil

Founded in 1983, the Terrasse Soleil Housing Cooperative offers 228 housing units across three buildings. We are one of the largest housing cooperatives in Montréal. Through the natural turnover of our units, apartments regularly become available.

Would you like to live in a dynamic cooperative where mutual support and everyone’s contribution truly make a difference? If you are willing to participate in community life by performing administrative or hands-on tasks according to your abilities, we invite you to carefully read the following information.

Inclusions and Amenities

  • Smoke-free housing units
  • Emergency service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Elevators in all three buildings
  • Heating, hot water, refrigerator, stove, and cable television service included
  • A paint voucher provided upon move-in — painting remains the member’s responsibility
  • Storage spaces, with sizes varying by building
  • Clean and very affordable shared laundry facilities
  • Heated outdoor swimming pool supervised by lifeguards
  • Paid indoor and outdoor parking, subject to availability and the signing of a lease
  • Spacious landscaped grounds featuring green spaces, outdoor furniture, a playground, a pétanque court, and 24 community garden plots
  • Professional landscaping and snow removal services for common areas
  • An administrative office staffed by a professional team, as well as a building maintenance department
  • Three full-time cleaning and maintenance employees who ensure that the premises remain clean and in good working order.

Members are responsible for the electricity used by the outlets and lighting in their unit. As a general estimate, the cost may be approximately $50 to $60 per month, depending on consumption.

A Convenient Location

The cooperative is located approximately 700 meters from the Roxboro–Pierrefonds REM station, providing quick access throughout the region, including downtown Montréal, which is about 20 minutes away.

A Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus stop is also located directly in front of the cooperative — stop no. 58202, served by routes 68, 208, 209, 382, and 468.

Many shops and services are within walking distance or located nearby, including traditional and specialty grocery stores, restaurants, parks, pharmacies, and medical clinics. Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal is approximately 10 kilometres away.

Participation: An Essential Responsibility

Living in a housing cooperative involves more than simply renting an apartment. Members actively contribute to the operation and well-being of their community.

The cooperative has several standing committees in which members may participate, including:

  • The Board of Directors
  • The Ecological Transition Committee
  • The Pool, Summer Activities, Flower Beds, Laundry Facilities, and Leisure committees, as well as other committees related to community life and the operation of the cooperative.

Participation is mandatory, but responsibilities can be adapted to each person’s abilities. If you do not have the time or interest required to become involved, cooperative living may not meet your expectations.
